The final evacuation of Battambang was preceded by the evacuation of dependants, then non-essential personnel of the NGOs. When fighting with the Khmer Rouge was within 15 km of the city the final indicator was passed and the last convoy of some 40 vehicles was dispatched and arrived safely in Phnom Penh. |
